The 5 Best Uses for Mobile Refrigerated Trailers

We recently added mobile refrigerated trailers to our shop. This was a big investment for

Tri-Point Refrigeration and we’d like to share it with all of you! For an in-depth look covering all the specs, you can check out our other blog post HERE.

What are refrigerated trailers used for?

Our main use for our new stock of refrigerated trailers is for when walk-in and reach-in cooler failures require time-consuming repairs. They are essentially a failsafe against product loss, reduced services and even temporary closures for local businesses whose functions rely on coolers and chillers. But that’s not all they’re good for…

Apart from our intended emergency use, we are offering our refrigerated trailers for short-term rental. We’ll bring the trailer to your business or event, set it up, show you how to adjust the temperature and we’ll pick it up when you’re done!

Why you might need to rent a refrigerated trailer

The heat of a Central Texas summer is enough to cook an egg on the pavement! A refrigerated trailer will keep all perishables safe from spoiling in the worst weather. All our trailers are multi-temperature, meaning they can be adjusted to function as a cooler, freezer or ice storage.

Here are some of the most common uses for refrigerated trailers:

  1. Weekend events. Whether you’re planning an outdoor wedding, birthday party, family reunion, sports game or school event, a trailer rental might be your perfect choice if you need temporary storage for food or drink. Depending on your unique needs, it could be significantly easier for your event crew to rent a trailer than to pack numerous portable coolers with ice. When we set up a trailer for an outdoor event, we need to run an extension cord to an adequate power source. Beyond that, we can set your trailer up just about anywhere!

  1. Catering. In a similar vein, catered events are one of the biggest uses for refrigerated trucks and trailers. While most professional catering companies will have their own refrigeration, if you are trying to save some money doing your own food preparation, we’ve got you covered. And for catering companies looking to add a little extra cold storage for that big event, we can help you out too!

  1. Floral displays. It might surprise you to know that cut flowers should be stored at temps just above freezing. If you’ve got flowers to arrange for an event, a multi-temp refrigerated trailer set between 34°F-38°F should do the trick.

  1. Transport. For our customers moving their cooler contents to a new location, you might be expanding your business operations or opening a second shop. Moving a large quantity of perishables can be a daunting task when you’re limited to use of personal vehicles with less than ideal storage capacity. Leer refrigerated trailers maintain strict temperature control, which means your product, whether it’s food, flowers, or pharmaceuticals, will arrive safely at the end of the journey.

  1. Renovations. For those of you who rely on your walk-in and reach-in coolers for business operations, scheduling renovations can be tricky if you plan to stay open during the process. Keeping a refrigerated trailer on site while you make necessary upgrades is a great way to maintain operations while keeping your product in a safe, accessible space.

Mobile refrigerated trailers offer a versatile, reliable solution for businesses and events that require temporary cold storage. Whether you're dealing with an equipment failure, planning an event, or undergoing renovations, these trailers ensure your perishables stay fresh and your operations run smoothly.
