Tri-Point Refrigeration is a full-service commercial refrigeration outfit and our loyal customers are what keeps us afloat. We recently purchased several refrigerated trailers for use in the event of unplanned walk-in repairs and replacements. 

While we maintain an extensive stock of replacement parts in our shop, we’re also aware that sometimes things just don’t go according to plan. Like several other businesses in the area, we’ve encountered supply chain issues and shipping delays in the past few years and we know that this can be a major issue if you’ve got a broken walk-in full of perishables. Leer Trailers

Our 5’x10’ Leer trailers are the perfect size to accommodate the contents of most walk-ins without taking up an excessive amount of space outside your building. As long as there’s access to a nearby outlet, we can set the trailer up anywhere! 

Leer refrigerated trailers are designed to maintain their interior temperature even when the outdoor temperature reaches 120°F! Being in the Central Texas area, the ability to perform in high outdoor ambient temperatures was a major deciding factor in favor of Leer trailers.  

Large capacity

The interior of the trailer can hold two full pallets with adequate clearance for the evaporator and features a large door opening for easier access.

For solely ice storage, the trailer can hold approximately 520 7lb. bags or 200 20lb. bags. 

Adjustable temperature range

All our Leer trailers feature an electronic thermostat capable of maintaining a temperature range from -4°F to +40°F. This allows the trailer to be used either as a cooler or a freezer. As mentioned above, it can be set for ice storage as well. We chose this multi-temperature version to accommodate a wide variety of customers and usage. 

Environmentally friendly refrigerant

Our trailers use R-404A refrigerant to maintain a consistent temperature. R-404A is a blended refrigerant that was created as a safer alternative to R-502 and R-22 refrigerants previously used in commercial equipment requiring medium to low temperature ranges. R-404A offers the same temperature consistencies and complies with all current environmental regulations. R-404A is a nonflammable, low toxicity refrigerant and will not cause harm to the Earth’s ozone in the event of an unexpected leak. 

Keeping cool in the Texas heat

Leer refrigerated trailers are outfitted with scroll compressors. If you’re new to refrigeration, the compressor is the heart of the system. This is the part that pumps the refrigerant throughout the cooling system and facilitates the refrigerant’s phase change, allowing it to provide cooling. It's also the part that works the hardest and requires the most power. Scroll compressors are the most durable, reliable and energy-efficient option available for refrigerated trailers. This means the trailer can work effectively even when our area experiences high outdoor temperatures and it won’t hurt your pocketbook when you receive your energy bill. 

Why we chose refrigerated trailers instead of trucks

The same trailers we purchased can be outfitted as refrigerated trucks. We chose the trailers for a couple of reasons. The first is liability. Our main purpose for our refrigerated trailers is cold storage in the event of a cooler failure but we wanted to make them available for rent as well. Renting out a trailer is less risk than renting a motor vehicle. That means our trailer rental rates for our customers can be much more affordable. All businesses need to be profitable but we do our best to maintain reasonable prices for all our customers, whether your business has one employee or one hundred.
